dc.description.abstractThe applicability of berthing of ship on floating hybrid quay wall(HQW) is studied in this paper. A series of model tests with 1/100 scale ratio in regular waves were carried out at shallow basin, KORDI. A higher order boundary element method(HOBEM) combined with generalized mode approach is applied to analysis of motion of HQW and container ship. The simulated motion responses also have been compared with the test results, and the applicability of HQW with berthing of ship is discussed. On the basis of the measured maximum mooring force and acceleration of crane, the workability of berthing of container ship on HQW is also discussed.-
