dc.description.abstract | In this study, the effect of sloshing on side-by-side ship motion and the nonlinear effect of sloshing depending on wave amplitude is investigated. The Navier-Stokes equation is solved for sloshing motion. For the analysis of free surface, Volume of Fluid(VOF) techniques is adopted. The ship motion is solved in time domain by taking account of memory effects. The ship motion and sloshing are linked by explicitly coupling the ship motion and sloshing force. The coupling method is used to simulate the interaction of side-by-side moored LNG FSRU and LNGC for various loading conditions and wave amplitudes. The numerical results show the nonlinear effects of sloshing cause the nonlinear ship motions at particular loading condition. | - |
