dc.description.abstractA vector superposition method using n order Ritz vectors for dynamic analysis of nonclassically damped structures is studied in this paper. Present method uses nonaugmented Lanczos recursion with n order for symmetric problems and applies the algorithm to dynamic response analysis of structures with nonclassical (nonproportional) damping. A framed structure with lumped dampers is considered in numerical example. Accuracy and computing time of the present method is investigated and the results are compared with those of the conventional eigenvector superposition method.-
