dc.description.abstract | In this paper, a reconfigurable software based implementation method of convolutional encoder and decoder using general purpose signal processor is described. The proposed method automatically configures the encoder by analysing the generate polynomial matrix and the decoder by analysing the generate polynomial matrix and implementation parameters such as acquisition depth and decoding depth. Therefore, an encoder and a decoder of any convolutional code can be implemented autonomously by using proposed method. Furthermore, to increase computation efficiency, data manipulation in encoder and decoder should be a multiple of minimum data processing unit of signal processor. The proposed implementation method of convolutional encoder and decoder will be used for the underwater acoustic network modem, which will support variable rate channel coding according to the channel condition to increase the transmission efficiency. | - |
