dc.description.abstract | Recently, the speed and size of ships have increased rapidly, resulting in increased frequency and volume of ballast water discharges. According to inquire result, ballast water of more than 10 billion tons is transported all over the world by ship, and foreign organisms of more than 10 thousand is moved by ballast water. The International Maritime Organization(IMO) recognized this problem and adopted the 'International Convention for the Control and Management of Ship's Ballast Water and Sediments' in February 2004. This ballast water convention will come into force soon. Thus, this study has developed the prototype system for ballast water risk assessment which is suitable for protection of port environment and biological environment from introduced foreign organisms. In addition, the system is based on Ajax in order to be operated rapidly and properly in the various web-environment and use the system resources to a minimum. | - |
