dc.description.abstract | Simulation experiment is a good method to ensure the traffic safety. Simulation database consists of various geographic datasets and requires spatial data integration. And the database should represent the virtual reality and have scientific accuracy. There is no standardized process to build maritime spatial database. There are many kinds of geographic datasets to implement the virtual real space. These are made in different organizations with different purposes. So, there are diverse formats, scales, making time and method. In order to integrate these datasets for the simulation, these datasets are converted, combined or extracted with some methods. And new datasets are sometimes created from them. In this study, nautical charts, digital topological maps, satellite images and etc. are used to build spatial database. Information for the maritime simulation is extracted from them and sometimes combined. With this spatial database, it has applied to simulation system. This study introduces efficient and economical procedures for building database. This study is very meaningful for building and managing spatial database for maritime simulation. Through the studies or tryouts like this, it can be improved how to build maritime spatial database for simulation. | - |
