dc.description.abstract | Recently, many navigational equipment such as radar, AIS and ECDIS have been developed, but maritime accidents do not have been decreased. Especially, about 30% out of maritime accidents are due to ship colliding accidents and more than 90% occur due to human errors. Therefore, it is necessary to use navigational support systems such as collision avoidance system in order to reduce human error and make ship navigation safer. In this study, experimental validations on newly-designed collision avoidance algorithm for ship by using fuzzy theory and changeable action space searching method are carried out by using free running model tests. Assuming that 9,000TEU container ship as own-ship and she collides with multiple traffic ships in open sea, numerical simulations are firstly carried out. And, on the same scenarios, free running model tests are performed in in-land water assuming virtual traffic ships. In this paper, the features of collision avoidance algorithm, simulation and free running model tests are introduced and the results of simulation and free-running model tests are discussed. | - |
