dc.description.abstractThe aim of this study is to investigate of biofouling properties with seawater temperature for different materials used for ocean industries such as a steel pipe, a polyethylene pipe and a nylon net. Experiments in a real sea environment were performed to grasp the biofouling of a diatom attached on materials in quantitative and qualitative by measuring Chlorophyll-a concentration. Experimental samples were installed at five kinds of ocean environmental conditions and analyzed at a time every month for five months. It is shown that the biofouling of a diatom is strongly affected with seawater temperature for all experimental samples. It is also found that a diatom mainly adheres to a nylon net, on the other hand, a Serpulidae does a polyethylene, on the condition of surface seawater ocean environment. The biofouling for low temperature of a deep seawater shows rare and stable for the experimental periods. Therefore, the inner of pipe conveying deep seawater can be maintained to be clear without biofouling on the condition of a flow speed and low temperature.-
