dc.description.abstract | In the present study, characteristics of parametric roll in irregular seas are investigated numerically. Focus is made on the comparison of statistical properties of parametric roll resonance and wave induced resonant roll in stern-quartering waves. NLOAD3D is used for numerical simulation. The program was validated through comparisons with extended susceptibility criteria of ABS guidance and model test data of a 6,000 TEU class container ship(WILS-JIP, 2008). Susceptibility in irregular seas and statistical and spectral properties are also investigated in practical point of view for various combinations of irregular seas. | - |
