dc.description.abstract | This paper describes a plan for the application of Collimated Dome Simulator(CDS) that we have recently equipped next-generation training and research simulators. The inherent defects of conventional ship navigation simulators are difficult to represent motions of a high speed vessel and air cushion vehicle, and impossible to have a display with a more realistic and 3-dimensinal sense of depth. The CDS incorporates the most recent technology and offers improved display performance over the traditional display systems. It consists of an advanced, wide field-of-view collimating mirror design, and it could be possible to provide the solution for defects of conventional simulators. We have investigated simulators with collimated display systems and designed a cockpit for general R&D research function and founded a plan for the marine application of the equipped CDS systems. | - |
