dc.description.abstract | KORDI is currently developing a high resolution imaging sonar for seafloor mapping. In order to design the imaging sonar detection range versus frequency and beamwidth for various sonar parameters are analyzed. For minimizing sidelobe effect its maximal magnitude for various element sizes and spacings is estimated. We found that the element spacing can be greater than the wavelength. The test-bed system of a 10 by 10 transducer array is manufactured and will be used for developing real-time sonar algorithm for the purpose of seafloor mapping. | - |
