dc.description.abstractThis paper experimentally investigates the characteristics of turret moored FSRU motions, mooring line loads and turret forces in combined environmental conditions. The statistical behaviour and extreme value of motion and mooring tension load is influenced by slow drift forces and motions. So the mooring and turret system must be designed considering both low and high frequency motion and load. Also there are other important factors considered; coupling of low and high frequency component, surge damping and nonlinear mooring line characteristics. Surge damping play an important role in low frequency behavior. The precise prediction of surge damping in calm water and waves is very important for the evaluation of extreme motion and load. Model test is performed in Ocean Engineering Basin in MOERI (Maritime and Ocean Engineering Research Institute). In the model test rotatable turret system and catenary mooring system are employed. Motions are measured by RODYM 6D and mooring line tension load are measured by 1 axis watertight loadcell attached on fairleader. The number of the low frequency component used in statistical analysis is about 100 for 3 hours test. For reliable analysis more data needs and 18 hours test is performed. The numerical benchmark study will be conducted for comparison.-
