dc.description.abstract | Numerical simulation of sloshing flow with impact phenomenon is presented based on CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics) technique. Navier-Stokes equations in integral forms are discretized using a cell-centered Finite Volume Method(FVM). The flow of two immiscible fluids seperated by free surface are solved by Volume of Fluid(VOF) scheme. In this study, CICSAM(Compressive Interface Capturing Scheme for Arbitrary Meshes), a kind of high resolution discretisation scheme, is used for VOF transport equation. In order to validate the developed code, dam-breaking problems without and with obstacles are tested. The comparison between numerical results and experiments shows good agreement. The sharpness and shape of the interface are well preserved during simulations. Global forces are also checked for the two-dimensional sloshing problems. Finally, we suggest three-dimensional sloshing simulations with circular cylinder. | - |
