dc.description.abstractThe novel structure of microbend fiber optic sensor was designed for the measurement of underwater cable's bending degree and its laboratory test was performed. From the measured data, the linear relation between the curvature of cable and the optical power loss was found out under the range from 0.1㎝-1 to 0.4㎝-1 of curvature. For the expansion to distributed sensing system, OTDR(Optical Time Domain Refractometer) was used as an measuring instrument and results were compared with data from optical power source and optical power meter.-
