dc.description.abstract | KORDI is currently developing a high resolution imaging sonar for seafloor mapping. In 2009 a test-bed system of a 10×10 transducer array is developed for this purpose. One problem is that the view angle of the transducer is only about ±10 degree which decreases the survey efficiency. In order to overcome this weakness new transducer array is designed and manufactured. This paper describes the design principle and the specifications of the manufactured system which view angle is over ±75 degree. The final performance analysis says that the maximum detection range is above 30 m if the target strength is over -35dB. The system will be used for developing real-time sonar algorithm for the purpose of seafloor mapping. | - |
