dc.description.abstractIn this paper, wave-induced motion characteristics of floating pendulor is numerically investigated. Floating pendulor is a movable-body-type wave energy converter. The device is consisted of three main parts, that is floater, pendulum and damping plates. In this study, we focused on the coupled motion analysis of floater and pendulum. In order to obtain hydrodynamic coefficients and wave exciting forces of floating bodies, higher- order boundary element method(HOBEM) using wave Green function is applied to present problems. Hinged motion of pendulum is simulated by applying penalty method in which equivalent stiffness matrix correspond to hinged constraint condition are included in motion equations. Firstly, wave force and motion characteristics of floater only are observed with respect to different shape parameters. Then, two-body coupled analysis of floater and pendulum is carried out. Relative pitch velocity and total wave forces acting on floating pendulor are compared with those of fixed pendulor.-
