dc.description.abstract | In this study, the wave-induced motion response of transporation barge is numerically investigated. Time-domain simulation is carried out by using convolution integral and nonlinear buoyancy force due to the geometrical nonlinearity are also considered. In order to include dynamic effect during water entry and exit phases, two simple wave-in- deck impact models are tested and compared. In the simulations, transported offshore structures are modeled as simple box and two different sized structures are considered. Regular wave simulations with three different wave heights in beam sea are performed and nonlinear motion behaviors are observed. Numerical results are compared with experimental data. Agreements between calculations and experiments are fairly good. | - |
