dc.description.abstract | Pure tone signals are transmitted in shallow water off the southern coast of Korea and underwater channel responses are measured with a transmitter moving slowly. PDFs of magnitude are obtained for each 10s- and 5s-long data segments. They are fitted to Rician distributions and the PDF parameters are estimated. The results show that the parameters vary rapidly along time and we can easily conclude that the shallow water acoustic channels are very unpredictable. We also found that K-factor greater than 10 is observed at the position of higher received power compared to mean path loss. | - |
