dc.description.abstract | In this study, the wave-induced motion response of transportation barge is numerically investigated. Time-domain simulations are carried out by using convolution integral. In the simulations, nonlinear buoyancy force due to the geometrical nonlinearity is also considered. In order to include dynamic effects during water entry, three impact models are tested and compared. In the numerical simulations, transported offshore structures are modeled as simple box. Regular wave simulations with three different wave heights in beam sea are performed and nonlinear motion characteristics are observed. Numerical results are compared with experimental data. Agreements between calculations and experiments are fairly good. | - |
