dc.description.abstract | To help crewmembers’ recognize colliding situation quickly, a navigational support system, in which collision risks among multiple ships can be recognized in real time, is newly-developed. By using AIS data for traffic information, an algorithm to calculate collision risks among multiple ships is implemented on a basis of fuzzy logic. Collision risks of multiple ships can be calculated considering the position and course of ownship and traffic ships. To test the performance of newly-developed system, simulation and field test are carried out by using actual AIS data. In this paper, main features of new system and the results of simulation and field test are describedalgorithm to calculate collision risks among multiple ships is implemented on a basis of fuzzy logic.
