dc.description.abstractMarine mammals and fishes are much sensitive to sound. Underwater noise pollution can lead to their behavior change and may affect their survival. Commercial vessel is one of the most important sources of underwater noise pollution. Especially, low frequency noise, emitted by vessel can have a large impact on the marine environment. Cavitation of the marine propeller is the most prevalent source of underwater noise and it is often the dominant noise source of a marine vessel. Therefore the technique enabling to predict and control the noise induced by a propeller is needed at the ship design stage. This paper deals with a numerical and experimental study on a commercial vessel’s propeller noise.ially, low frequency noise, emitted by vessel can have a large impact on the marine environment.
