dc.description.abstract | A cinemagraphic x-ray densitometry system has been developed for the measurement for the measurement of partial cavitation. Three cavitating conditions were examined: incipient and developed close partial cavities, and a strongly shedding cavity. The spanwise averaged void fraction fields were compared to conventional high-speed images of the flows, and the time-series of void fraction at particular points in the flow field were used to determine the shedding frequency.ng cavity.
