dc.description.abstract | this research suggests a fundamental methodology of dynamic simulations of many particles in macroscopically complex ow elds by seamlessly linking DHD and CFD and, more importantly, provides in-depth understanding of microscopic behavior of particle aggregation, sedimentation, and removal in vortex separators. A series of DHD/CFD simulation results can be statistically analyzed to suggest optimal geometric designs and operation conditions. Our future study includes simulation of chain-like particle structures and exible bodies with geometrical constraints.of particle aggregation, sedimentation, and removal in vortex separators.
