dc.description.abstractSpilt oil in the ocean is moved by currents and winds with weathering. For the realistic simulation of oil behavior including sinking and suspension of weathered oil, we developed three dimensional oil spill prediction model. The three dimensional oil spill prediction model calculate transport by currents, turbulent diffusion, vertical mixing and oil diffusion with weathering effect by using numerical tracer method based on the Monte Carlo simulation. As an application of this prediction model, we simulated the distribution of oil pollution by Hebei Spirit oil spill incident. The oil pollution by Hebei Spirit oil spill incident was simulated using the hindcast results of wind and currents at the time of incident during one month (720hours) from 07:00 7th December 2007 to 07:00 6th January 2008.
