dc.description.abstract | This study was aimed at investigating the cooling performance of a heat pump system that uses seawater as the heat source. As heat sources, we used Deep seawater, surface seawater, and ground seawater. Such kinds of seawater are very attractive as heat sources for heating and cooling heat pump systems. This attractiveness stems from their environmentally friendly nature, as their use leads to energy savings and reduced carbon dioxide emissions compared to conventional heating and cooling heat pump systems. Results of comparison among conventional cooling, direct cooling using deep seawater, and heat pump cooling using surface seawater and ground seawater revealed that heat pump cooling saved approximately 84.7%, 14.3%, and 20.6% of the integrating power.tractive as heat sources for heating and cooling heat pump systems.
