dc.description.abstract | The Oscillating Water Column(OWC) type wave energy converter is known as the most popular one in the world among the various wave energy converting types because of the stable operating conditions. The impulse turbine are widely used as a second energy converting device. The experimental and numerical methods are employed to investigate the unsteady characteristics of impulse turbine. The experiment is carried out using wave simulator which can make regular and irregular sinusoidal flow in the duct by piston motion. The fully unsteady model based of RANS equation is established using commercial CFD code, Fluent. The model test to measure the rotating speed from rest point to converged point under various loading conditions and flow conditions are performed using wave simulator. The detail flows around blade are investigated by CFD method under various attack angle of impulse turbine.econd energy converting device.
