dc.description.abstract | The design process and procedure of a buffer device for pilot mining test of a self-propelled mining system is shown in this study. The buffer device is assigned to perform several functions: the storing the crushed nozzle at miner, feeding the stored nodule, damping the pendulum motion of lifting pipe, damping the axial vibration of lifting pipe, and controlling the heading posture of itself. An performance test of the buffer device is designed. The feeder speed, the kind of crushed nodule, and screw feeder type are determined as test variables. The flow rate of the water is set as 500 m3/h. The variation of settling levels at 4 points of settling buffer, the variation of feeding levels at 4 points of feeding buffer, and the feeding rate are selected as performance value.
