dc.description.abstractIn this paper, second-order wave forces acting on offshore structures are numerically investigated using higher-order boundary element method. Boundary value problem is formulated up to second order according to Stokes’ perturbation expansion. The governing equation, Laplace equation, with appropriate boundary conditions is solved by integral equation with wave Green function in frequency domain. The present numerical method is validated by comparing second-order wave forces acting on truncated cylinders and sphere.ion.
