dc.description.abstractIn this study, berthing problem between FSRU and LNGC in waves was experimentally and numerically investigated. Model tests were carried out in Ocean Engineeing Basic of MOERI. FSRU and LNGC models with 1:60 scale ratio were used and berthing operation was performed by using CPMC(Computerized Planar Motion Carriage) and spring mooring. Firstly, motion responses of two vessels with three different separation distances were measured. The change of motion response due to hydrodynamic interaction was observed. Then, berthing tests in calm sea and waves were carried out. The effect of berthing speed on horizontal fluid forces was studied and transient motion time series were suggested. All experimental cases were compared with numerical results based on time-domain simulations.
