dc.description.abstract | In order to facilitate efficient and safe CCS commercialization, legal and regulatory framework for CCS should be supported by specific technical guidelines. To establish appropriate regulatory framework for CCS, it is very important to comprehensively understand technical standards and performance requirements needed in the each stage of CCS project life cycle, as well as the role and correlation between the project operator and the relevant regulator and stakeholders with regard to site selection and the permitting processes required for each stage of CCS project. This paper identifies a range of application of DNV technical guidelines in establishing domestic law for CCS and suggests its application to Korean domestic law for CO2 storage project including exploration, storage and closure authorization.
