dc.description.abstract | The wake characteristics of CRP(Contra-Rotating Propeller) were studied using flow measurement and numerical simulation. The flow measurement was performed with SPIV(Stereoscopic Particle Image Velocimetry) system and the numerical simulation was carried out with FLUENT based on a URANS(Unsteady ReynoldsAveraged Navier-Stokesequations) solver. The simulation results were validated through the comparison with the experimental results measured around the leading edge of rudder to investigate the effect of propeller operation under the conditions without propeller, with forward propeller alone, and with both forward and after propellers. The evolution of CRP wake was analyzed through velocity and vorticity contours in three cross-sectional views as well as longitudinal view.
