dc.description.abstract | Among several ways to predict the manoeuvrability of a ship, captive model tests are widely used. Nowadays, with aid of growing computation power, manoeuvrability prediction by CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) methods are actively tried, because of the advantage that flow field can be easily investigated. In this paper, an oil carrier vessel KVLCC2s numerical resistance and static drift tests was conducted by WAVIS, which is KRISO (Korea Research Institute of Ships and Ocean Engineering)s own CFD code. The computation results were compared with results of experimental captive manoeuvring tests.because of the advantage that flow field can be easily investigated.
