dc.description.abstract | The buffer station is composed on intermediate storage, ore feeder, a pair of thrusters for heading control, hydraulic aggregate and monitoring-and-control system, and remotely operated from aboard. The storage capacity was chosen to meet the collecting amount for 15 minutes mining in average. Discharging function of sediment plume was involved in design of the buffer configuration as an eco-friendly measure. Screw-type auger was adopted for the feeding mechanism, which will assure the optimum volume concentration of ores in the lifting pipe. Flow-meters, pressure sensors, cameras, gyro-compass, inclination sensors and hydrophone are used to monitor and control the hydraulic actuators.he collecting amount for 15 minutes mining in average.
