dc.description.abstractTransportation using ships possesses about 80% of international cargo transport and production of oil and gas using offshore plants is on an increasing trend. Shipbuilding industry is a key industry in Korea. Ships and offshore platforms are operated during about 20~30 years life-cycle by several companies. It entails enormous cost and time for sharing and reusability of information, because information is formed in compliance with a different standard and format of various companies. To reduce the inefficiency, we developed KRS-DEX(information exchange protocol) for efficient sharing and exchange of information generated within operation/maintenance phase of ships and offshore platforms. KRS-DEX is based on KRS-WBS(information classification scheme), and is means of information exchange between delivery system in shipyards and on-board system in ships. We could efficiently share and exchange information at operation/maintenance phase of ships and offshore platforms with KRS-DEX and Parser (supporting KRS-DEX).e operated during about 20~30 years life-cycle by several companies.
