dc.description.abstracthe present study considers correlations among the relative velocity, slamming impact loads, and structural responses on a ultra-large containership. A segmented model of 10,000TEU containership with six segments was used with the scale ratio of 1:60. The six segments were connected by a U-shape steel backbone where a number of strain gauges were installed to measure structural responses. A number of force sensors were distributed on the bow-flare, stern, and deck areas in order to measure the slamming impact load. Regular and irregular waves were considered including various ship speeds, heading angles, and wave heights. Based on the measured data, correlations of the relative velocity-slamming impact loads and slamming impact loads-structural responses are presented and discussed.o of 1:60.
