dc.description.abstract | This study deals with the evaluation on the integrity of steel riser and flexible riser design of the subsea mining system. This system is developed to carry out pilot tests under real sea environment to be located at the East Sea of Korea and correct manganese nodules on the deep sea floor. The riser stack-up which pumps up subsea mineral resources consists of steel riser, flexible riser, lifting pump, buffer and tapered stress joint. Static analysis is performed to estimate the allowable working range of the subsea miner. Under the mining operating condition, dynamic analysis aims to evaluate the stability and design compatibility of riser part. The deployment assessment is conducted in three stages considering the installation procedure of the mining system with water depth. and correct manganese nodules on the deep sea floor.
