dc.description.abstractocean thermal energy conversion(OTEC) has gotten people’s attention as an useful alternative. The reason OTEC is considered as an important alternative is because of its stability as well as abundance of the source. The research on OTEC technology was very active in 1970’s, and has been vigorously explored again from 2008 in advanced nations. Korea started the OTEC research in 2010, successfully completed the demonstration of 20kW OTEC pilot plant in 2013, and is in pursuance of designing 1MW OTEC pre-commecial plant. Recently, EU and the U.S. announced the plan of completion of 10MW OTEC plant in 2017 or 2018, so the OTEC research road map planned in 2010 has been revised again to meet the global trend.chnology was very active in 1970’s, and has been vigorously explored again from 2008 in advanced nations.
