dc.description.abstractFor the application of discharged deep seawater from land based OTEC plant or from individual cold water pipe, SWAC and desalination plants were developed by KRISO and Korean R&D team. 500RT and 1,000RT tandem heat pump system were developed as seawater refrigeration and air-conditioning purposes. It was proved that the cooling COPC and the heating COPH of 500RT turbo heat pump was 6.0 and 4.9 respectively by public approval organization test. Seawater desalination plants of RO/NF/ED treatment were adopted and enhanced to control mineral balance for public and industry. Since seawater utilization plants are very helpful in reducing CO₂emission and in supplying more renewable energy, they can be used to develop a Blue Infrastructure in coastal regions for accomplishing the sustainable development goals.d as seawater refrigeration and air-conditioning purposes.
