dc.description.abstractSevan 1MW OTEC(Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion) platform was designed to apply in equator seas. In this study, OTEC platform was investigated by experimental methods. The OTEC platform that is octagon-shaped(Sevan) was carried out in Ocean Engineering Basin of KRISO. This experiments were performed for a various tests of the regular wave and irregular wave. The responses of the platform in regular waves had a good agreement between numerical and experimental results such as motion RAOs. The peak period of heave and pitch motions were observed around 0.5rad/s. The standard deviation(STD) of platform motion was checked in irregular waves of equator and hawaii seas. The STD of pitch was less than 4° of operability requirement in equator conditions and the surge STD of wave frequency had good agreement between numerical and experimental results.Engineering Basin of KRISO.
