dc.description.abstractWe conducted seabed exploration of the East Sea using Hemire, which is a deep-sea remotely operated vehicle, for 15 days in June 2015. This paper presents preparation, process and results of the seabed exploration. The Hemire dived 10 times in 8 areas of the East Sea, and it was operated up to 2,032 meters depth. We obtained 12 push cores and collected several sea lives on the seabed using two manipulators of the Hemire. Collection of living things were performed by scoop, our fish trap and waste fish trap. Multi-beam sonar of the Hemire acquired more precise subsurface topology than its of the mothership. detail All process of exploration were recorded as HD video with subtitles including date, time, position, depth, altitude and heading information. in 8 areas of the East Sea, and it was operated up to 2,032 meters depth.
