dc.description.abstractIn this study, a new time-domain analysis method has been developed to investigate a ship-to-ship interaction problem. The boundary value problem is formulated with respect to an earth-fixed coordinate system. The classical finite element method is used to solve the Laplace equation in the fluid domain with moving boundary. A simple re-mesh algorithm with local and global mesh is introduced to update mesh. The developed numerical method is validated by applying conventional ship motion problem with constant forward speed. Then, we solved passing ship problem with two Series60 models. The focus is on the ship wave and wave forces.
