dc.description.abstract | In this paper, the numerical wind tunnel tests on superstructures of operation ships are performed at a range of incident anglescident angles to predict aerodynamic drag and understand flow characteristics using a commercial CFD software,STAR-CCM+. In the first stage, the numerical simulation of 3-D separation flow around a bottom-mounted cube, is carried out to validate the software through the comparison with re-published experiments. And then, the CFD simulation of aerodynamic flow around a container ship is performed and the simulation results are compared with regression formulae suggested by Fujiwara(2006), Blendermann(1994) and ITTC(2006) based on experiments, as a validation. | - |
