선박해양플랜트연구소(KRISO)의 현재와 미래과제 및 해양연구개발관련 현재활동 소개

Abstract

Korea Research Institute of Ships & Ocean engineering (KRISO) is a government funded research institute and it was established in 1973. Since KRISO was established, it has carried out a lot of researches in a range of areas such as ship technology, offshore plant engineering, maritime traffic safety, marine accident response, marine equipment technology etc [1]. KRISO has built its reputation by carrying out active researches in ship technology and ocean engineering field. KRISO has, especially, achieved an exceptional growth and thereby KRISO’s role in the fields is highly expected in the future.

In this presentation, KRISO’s offshore plant engineering related facilities such as an ocean engineering basin and an ice tank, are introduced as well as related projects which are on progress using these facilities such as ‘Development technology for floating offshore LNG bunkering system (see Figure 1)’. Furthermore, the presentation describes‘Advanced Technology Engineering Centre (ATEC)’ which was established for the purpose of offshore plant engineering, and the ongoing construction of deep ocean engineering basin (see Figure 2) [2]. Finally, the project discusses about the future prospects of offshore plant related research at home and abroad.
