dc.description.abstract | Missions of design engineers and analysis engineers are being integrated these days because modern mechanic design, simulation and analysis technologies have been rapidly advanced. Each engineer, who is a design engineer or an analysis engineer, should be multiplayer to be able to do them. This is very difficult and is time consuming due to special studies of different fields. A method to tackle the problem is a simulation-based design. However, design results using the SBD method cannot be used directly in manufacture and construction process because the method is a mathematical model and has approximation results. We developed a novel product design technique to solve this problem. It is a proper design method of products. The proper design technique consisted of a simulation-based optimization design method and commercial part database-based component selection technique. Products to use construction are found in commercial product database using getting results through the SBOD. The selected products are applied in manufacturing and construction fields immediately. Particularly, the developed proper design of products method will be used efficiently in offshore plant and shipbuilding industries, which is design as modular structures. This method is called “Feedback Loop Design". | - |
