dc.description.abstract | Generally, a ship’s manoeuvring characteristics is studied based on the assumption that a ship moves in horizontal plane without large heel angle. Therefore, 3-degrees of freedom(DOF) equations of horizontal motion or slightly coupled 3-DOF in horizontal with 1-DOF in roll equations of motion are usually used for the description of a ship’s motion. If a ship happens to be in large heel condition, coupling effects between roll and other horizontal motion should be considered. In this research, these coupling effects were studied through manoeuvring captive model tests of KCS in large heel conditions. | - |
