dc.description.abstractSlender pipe is being widely used in the field of ocean engineering such as for riser, pipeline, mooring line and electrical cable. Several laboratory tests were performed on VIV. Various measuring methods were used for strain gauge, FBG sensor and underwater measuring camera. In this study, A study of behavior measurement were performed for rigid bar and slender pipe in the condition of forced oscillation. Behavior of model was measured using underwater cameras. The model test for rigid bar was conducted to determine the accuracy of underwater measuring system. The behavior of rigid bar was compared with the motion of forced oscillator, and it was found to be similar to the motion of oscillator due to the rigidity of model. The test for slender pipe was performed to examine the response along the pipe length. Behavior of slender pipe was predicted through modal analysis before the model test. The behavioral shape of pipe was depended on the oscillation period. This was related to mode analysis result. The modal shape was clearly shown in the condition of large amplitude. The quantitative analysis will be performed for this pipe test. The response will be analysed according to oscillation periods and amplitudes.-
