dc.description.abstractA tension leg platform (TLP) may experience frequent wave-in-deck impacts in extreme waves because of good vertical motion performance and local wave amplifications. In this study, the experimental observations of the wave-in-deck events are suggested based on the model tests of a TLP. In the test, the extreme waves of 100-year and 1,000-year return periods were tested. First, relative wave elevations were analyzed to detect the wave-in-deck events. Focus is made on the effect of location and current on relative wave elevations. In addition, statistical values of relative wave elevation are computed based on Weibull fitting. Then, the process of wave-in-deck events is discussed using a series of snapshots for the model tests.-
