dc.description.abstractIn this study, the performance of boron-selective ion exchange resins containing N-methyl glucamine groups, as Diaion CRB 03 and Amberlite IRA 743, have been tested for boron removal from deep-sea water, RO-concentrated water and mineral concentrated water. Batch-mode experiments were conducted with varying amounts of these resins to determine the optimum amount of resin with 99% boron removal rate in each of the deep-sea water, RO-concentrated water and mineral concentratedwater. In addition, the column-mode experiments were carried out by varying the amounts of resins and the feed flow rates to compare the boron removal efficiency of these resins. As a result, the boron removal efficiency of Diaion CRB 03 was higher than that of Amberlite IRA 743 in both deep-sea water and RO-concentrated water, and the boron removal efficiency was higher as the rate of passing through the column was slower. The boron removal rates of Diaion CRB 03 reached similar values at the column passing rates of 3 ml/min and 12 ml/min by increasing the amounts to 1.2 g/25ml for deep-sea water and 1.5 g/25ml for RO-concentrated water, respectively.-
