dc.description.abstractIn this study, a ship handling simulator framework using web technology is proposed, to resolve the problems of complexity and expansion that limit present simulator systems. Key functions of conventional ship simulator systems were analyzed, and web based technologies that can substitute those functions were selected to compose the framework. The server and client core technologies were realized based on this design, and were used to produce a prototype of a ship handling simulator system that can be used through a web browser. Testing of the produced prototype found that, unlike existing ship simulators, access was not restricted by time or location and multiple users could use the simulation service simultaneously. The proposed system is expected to be used in various simulation fields.-
