dc.description.abstract | The island area is costly to transport electricity from the land or to transport oil for diesel power generation. In addition, land space is limited and it is difficult to produce sufficient electricity by sunlight or onshore wind. Wave power generation can be extended to the sea without the cost of energy source, so it is easy to apply in remote island areas. In particular, the small-sized wave energy converter that can be applicable to the existing breakwaters does not require an infrastructure and is economically applicable. This paper presents the development of a small wave power generator that can be installed on a breakwater in a book area. The results of the design of the oscillating water column, the air turbine, the generator, and the controller constituting the small wave energy converter are presented, and the design and the integration of the system are discussed. | - |
